WHAT ARE SLOW FLORALS?
You may have seen this phrase within the website and wondered, what does that actually mean...? So what are slow florals really? And why did I chose to develop a collection of dried designs after 8 years of working with fresh flowers?
It all comes down to sustainability, style, and substance. Before founding Maranta at the end of 2019 I had worked as a florist for many years, yet felt stifled by design conformity and the excessive use of plastics and toxic floristry foam standard within the industry. Concurrently, I was realising my vision to found my own business and run it in a sustainable way that aligned with my ethics and values. After returning from South East Asia in the summer of 2019 with a fresh focus and renewed vision, I branched out to create an online store that celebrates tropical, sunny inspired living and beautiful handcrafted interiors.

Fresh flowers shipped from around the world typically last 1-2 weeks before they are consigned to the compost, and although many dried stems do still come from European and Asian flower farms, their longevity means that they will last and last, and last some more (hence why I call them 'slow') so you don't have to worry about the footprint of your florals... These flowers are the exact opposite of fast, instant gratification - they will bring joy for years if you provide a little simple care. I try to buy directly from as many small European flower farmers as I can, so it's a great feeling knowing that I'm supporting a fellow small business just like mine.
And lastly, I will never sell anything I don't love myself, Evermore dried florals will never sacrifice on style ~ this is also why you won't find garish dyed colours or artificial neon coloured bouquets in the range! Everything reflects the Maranta signature of natural textures, neutral subtle colours and modern rustic style to bring a touch of the tropics into your home for many years.
